John Hankins, a retired Hospital Executive, grew up on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He holds several college degrees, is a world traveler, has served honorably in the U. S. Merchant Marine during the W.W. II Pacific Campaign (age 16 - 18), the U.S. Army, and finally the U.S. Air Force until retiring to continue his professional career as a civilian Hospital Administrator and Consultant. He has many professional articles to his credit and has been honored on a number of occasions for contributions to the various communities he has served. In 1986, two years after being honored by the entire Senate of the State of Hawaii, and simultaneously by the Hawaii County Council for outstanding work on their behalf, he decided to enter politics' and ran for Governor of that State. Regrettably, lack of a five year current residency requirement finally brought his campaign to an end months later, but this did not curb his efforts to fight for political reforms in Hawaii. In time he was elected President and Chairman of various State Senatorial and Representative political districts before deciding to return to a new writing career. Shortly thereafter, important events on the mainland arose, requiring the John and his talented wife, Nedra -- a former Registered Nurse and part time artist -- to return to Houston, Texas, where they still reside. When not writing John serves as an Adjunct Professor teaching Hospital Administration to graduate students in Houston's Baptist University Health Science Department.
